Loan processor

A loan processor role at Money Brain. You'd make sure every file is right before a lender sees it, and keep it moving from application to settlement. Remote, anywhere in Australia.

What a loan processor does here

Processing is where applications are won or lost. A file that's complete, correct and lodged with everything the assessor needs is approved faster than one that arrives in pieces, and the difference is the person who prepared it.

From the outside, it's the role people understand least. It's also the one that decides whether a client settles on the day their contract says.

A file, from application to settlement

1

Collect and check every document the client sends, and chase what's missing.

2

Confirm every figure against its source. Income to the payslip and tax record, savings to the statement, debts to the credit file.

3

Build the lodgement pack and the evidence behind it, so an assessor can say yes without coming back.

4

Lodge through ApplyOnline and answer the lender's questions the same day they arrive.

5

Track every file's next step and whose court it's in, through approval, documents and settlement.

A normal week

Several files at different stages at once. Documents arriving from clients, lender questions to answer, files to check before they go, and approvals to see through to settlement. Most of the work is reading carefully, and most of the time that's what keeps a settlement date.

What makes it hard

  • Documents that disagree. A payslip, a tax record and a bank statement that don't tell the same story, and noticing before an assessor does. That's most of the job.

  • Refusing to tick what you haven't seen. A file where every item is ticked and half the evidence is missing is worse than one that's obviously incomplete, because everyone downstream trusts it.

  • Settlement dates don't move. A client's contract sets the day, and a lender's question at the wrong moment can put it at risk. Keeping it means answering fast and getting it right the first time.

What you need, and what it pays

Experience. Lending operations experience, real familiarity with ApplyOnline and a broker CRM, and comfort reading a payslip, a tax record and a bank statement side by side. If the difference between a ticked box and a checked one is obvious to you, we should talk.

Pay and where you work. Competitive, discussed on application. The role is remote, from anywhere in Australia.
